 I made this smarty pants layout when I was practicing making brushes.  I made (this is my life) and (wonderful) into brushes.

I have been trying to take more pictures and scrapbook myself more. (anything at all is more than what I was doing) I think all of these products were from the October Daly Digi files.

I think my next product should be the Girls Night Out: Collection by Flergs.

First day of Grade 2. 

Time to tie your own shoes.

So for about a week and a half now Harris has been saying yes to things with the cutest, deliberate nod.  He looks at you, stops everything he is doing and nods his head forward and back up again and smiles and sometimes repeats. He is so cute with a million different smiles and grins. 

I don't often do this but today I made to page (mostly) before I picked the pictures.  I think it worked out ok, was a fun change, but will not happen again for a while.

One of my favorite pictures = one of my favorite layouts.  When you have boys who look this good it makes it easy to make the photo the star of the layout but I love all the products too.

I'm trying to get ready for Andrew's 4th birthday party on May 6th but I also want to scrapbook on May 5th for national scrapbook day.  I hope I can get everything done in time. May 6th is also Duane's birthday, he wants to go out to the movie on Friday (The Avengers) but I think Nicolas is going with him and I am saying home :(

I have been cooking up a storm for Harris' first bithday party this Sunday.  I made a chocolate chip angle food cake, and stuffed a cupcake in the hole. Then I added frosting (That’s the Best Frosting I’ve Ever Had) with chocolate coated coconut flakes to look like a nest and put some mini eggs on top.

And of course we have to have Birthday cupcakes (Martha Stewart Hi Hat cupcakes). The last couple of times that I made these I have found that the filling has been grainy so this time I added 1tbsp molases and 1 tbsp honey (this is my usual substitute for corn syrup) Also the cupcakes are actually a chocolate fudge brownie cupcake becauce I like that recipe better.

Card class tonight

These are the cards we are going to make tonight in my card class.  Of course I waited until the last minute to decide what we were going to do, then I had to stay up REALLY late last night to finish these.  I think I went to bed around 4:00 and now today I have all 3 boys home because my oldest boy is sick.  What a fun day I will have.

Here is my son modeling one of the scarves I knit.  I made about 10 of them.  I still have one extra if anyone wants it. $30 plus shipping.

Re-do a layout

So the layout that I posted yesterday is one of the first that I have wanted to rip apart and re-do.  I loved the layout except maybe should have done the "have" in a little darker colour but that is not the reason I want to re-do it.  I left it on my desk yesterday and my 6 year-old and 3 year-old decided it needed more colour (in the form of ink daubers) and inked up the papers with green and red ink.  I was not impressed!!!

Word Games

Today at supper Duane and Nic and then Nic and I had an hour long word game, where you take turns saying a word starting with a specific letter and then the next person has to say a word that starts with the letter that the last word ended with.  I'm sure there is a name for this game but I don't know it. I was so proud of Nicolas. Yes I thin at 6 years old his spelling is already better than mine.
I have also started to play some word games like scrabble, on my ipod but the games will not open for me anymore so I am stuck in the middle of a few games with my friends.  They are probable wondering why I don't make the next move but I can't.  If I am ever able to get back on the "words with friends" my next word will be "axis" in a triple word score spot.

I just installed lightroom on my computer last night.  Now I just have to learn how to use it.  Any suggestions?

It's all fun and games.

Even after 5 years I still like the layout. Gold paint on the cardstock, journaling right on the photos and wooden letters. Very artsy.

So it has been ages since I posted on this blog but I am going to try to do it a little more often. I am going to post a bunch of scrapbook pages that I have finished in the past 3 years to kind of get a fast overview of what has been happening. This is a layout that I made with the pictures from the photo shoot mentioned in my last blog post. Wow! it has been a while.
